Joel was born in Michigan and April in Louisiana—but their paths crossed in Oklahoma, where they both relocated in their twenties. After marrying in 2006, they quickly discovered a shared passion that would shape their lives: global missions.

In 2011, Joel stepped into full-time ministry as an evangelist, traveling and preaching the Gospel. April continued to serve alongside him in missions while also working professionally as a certified Project Manager. Their combined gifts in ministry and leadership laid the foundation for what would soon become Go Beyond Borders, officially launched as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2015.

Since then, Joel and April have led over 30 mission trips and 21 Mass Evangelism Festivals in nations around the world. Their hearts’ desire reflects the Apostle Paul’s - to bring the Gospel to those who have not yet heard. To that end, they plan and lead large events while connecting and equipping local church leaders for the Harvest. They do this both overseas and in the U.S - wherever the Lord opens doors for them to empower the Church for her mission.

• But how can people call on him for help if they’ve not yet believed? And how can they believe in one they’ve not yet heard of? And how can they hear the message of life if there is no one there to proclaim it? And how can the message be proclaimed if messengers have yet to be sent? That’s why the Scriptures say:

  How welcome is the arrival of those proclaiming the joyful news of peace and of good things to come! (Romans 10:14-15, TPT)

• We’re not trying to take credit for the ministry done by others, going beyond the limits God set for us. Instead, our hope soars as your faith continues to grow, causing a great expansion of our ministry among you. Then we can go and preach the good news in the regions beyond you without trespassing on the ministry sphere of other laborers and what they have already done. (2 Cor. 10:15-16, TPT)
